brother related FAQ- I own a MFC-490CW printer that uses LC61 Series ink. The color cartridges work fine but my FULL black ink cartridges (I've tried two brand new ones) won't transfer on to the paper. I have tried cleaning it with the printer's cleaning option, realigning it and doing a test print for color quality. Nothing seems to fix the problem. What can I do to get my printer to start using black ink again?
- Can I refill my Brother MFC inkjet printer ink cartridges ?
- I have had a Brother MFC DCP-120C for a couple of years. It has scanned and printed beautifully. I recently purchased multiple 'compatible' ink cartridges, because I print in color for my students' handouts, and the cost of Brother ink is huge. I got a 'cannot clean' message -- ran the troubleshooting suggestions - no luck. Now I have a non-working printer and lots of useless cartridges.?
- I bought a Brother brand monochrome laser printer and was wondering how much it costs to own one The printer itself with the toner (contains only 50% of a cartridge you buy separately) is relatively cheap for about $80. Would owning a laser printer outweigh the costs of printing it for $0.10/page that my school charges?
- Last year, I used my Brother HL-2040 laser printer at least one per week (not a lot). Over the summer, I didn't use it at all. This year, when I went to print a page, it comes out with these black spots on every page. All the dots on the left *should* look alike, as with the ones on the right. I have tried changing the type of paper I use, I think I cleaned the toner thoroughly, and I still can't seem to fix it. Any help?
- We have a Brother MFC-5440CN printer and no matter how full the official ink carts are, or how much we clean it, it just refuses to print any black parts of a document. Please help!?
- I have a Brother MFC 3220, and it keeps giving me the message that one or more of my ink tanks are empty, yet they appear to be over 1/2 full, and not even 2 months old yet. Is there an easy fix, or should I just get a new printer?
- I have a Brother MFC 4-in-1 printer. Every time a color ink cartridge runs out, it will not even let me print in black and white. Is there any way around this I just need to print in black and white, but it won't let me because the yellow is out.?
- Everything seems to be fine with my Brother DCP-130c printer, but when I print, it's only in color. Monochrome isn't available.?
- Brother printer reads no cartridge even when a full ink cartridge is in place. Why is this?
