Important Printer Buying Tip: ALWAYS check for the ink cartridge prices before you purchase a
printer. Why? Sometimes cheaper printers end up costing more because its
ink cartridges may be way expensive. You should calculate the "cost of
ownership" per month. The math is simple: (number of prints per month)
times (cost of the cartridge) divided by (the yield of the cartridge).
Yield is the number of pages that can be printed with one particular
cartridge.
For example, assume that average home user prints 150 black pages per
month using a black cartridge that yields 200 pages and costs $28. The
monthly "cost of ownership" is (150 pages) x ($28) = $21

Also look at the printer ink alternatives; besides the
original manufacturer's cartridges (OEMs), you may have the selection of
remanufactured cartridges, compatible ink cartridges, and ink refill kits.

fast. It can print or copy up to 25 ppm in black and up to 17 ppm in
color, and a beautiful 4-by-6-inch borderless print takes about 36
seconds (1). Plus, its USB 2.0 Hi-Speed interface (2) enables fast image
transfers and scanning speeds delivering improved performance for both
printing and scanning functions. For even higher productivity, the
integrated 35-page auto document feeder helps you speed through larger
copy jobs; dual paper path lets you keep a second type of paper ready
for printing; and built-in two-sided printing (duplexing) saves both

This high-performance machine has the quality to match. When scanning

Precision Color Distribution Technology
Unlike other systems, nozzle configuration in Bubble Jet printers is

developing an ultrahigh-precision, multinozzle print head. The problem
of color inconsistency has been solved by positioning a mirror-image
line of 128 nozzles (600 dpi pitch for each color) at a half-pitch
offset from the existing line. This configuration also provides the
added advantage of enabling high-resolution printing at 1,200 dpi.
Canon Think Tank System This efficient system has five individual ink tanks, so
you'll replace only the color that runs out, not an entire cartridge
containing unused ink. Plus, a low-ink sensor alerts you when a tank's
ink level gets low. The result? Higher efficiency, lower printing costs

Exif Print Technology Exif 2.2 is the worldwide printer independent standard for
digital image processing. Under Exif 2.2, the digital still camera can
record data tags for specific camera settings and functions such as
whether the flash was on or off, if the camera was in landscape,
portrait or night scene mode, etc. Referencing some or all of this
information, an Exif Print compatible application can process digital
camera images intelligently based on specific camera settings and the
shooting environment.
