Troubleshooting after the Refilling Process
Step 1: Run the print-head cleaning mechanism (described in your inkjet printer's manual) and attempt to print a few pages.
Step 2: If this procedure does not work, using the syringe supplied in your refill kit, inject air into the top air vent to clean the nozzles. A small amount of ink should be emitted from the nozzles upon injection. (The nozzle is the porous metal piece at the bottom of the cartridge)
Step 3: If this procedure does not work your print-head nozzles are probably blocked with dried ink. At this point use the syringe to take out as much ink as possible from your cartridge and read on to the next section.
If your cartridge has been sitting outside for more than couple of days, it is very likely that your print-heads may be clogged.
Step 1: Place the clogged nozzles in warm water and soak them until the dried ink begins to flow from the nozzle.
Step 2: After a few minutes of letting the dried ink flow, remove the nozzles from the water and dry it with a soft tissue or cotton swab.
Step 3: Reinstall the cartridge and run the print-head cleaning mechanism (described in your inkjet printer's manual).
Step 4: If this does not work, repeat the procedure.
Step 5: If your cartridge still does not print after repeating, uninstall the cartridge and place it on a soft tissue or cotton swab with rubbing alcohol in an upside down position. Let the cartridge sit on it overnight.
Step 6: Reinstall the cartridge and run the print-head cleaning mechanism (described in your inkjet printer's manual).
Step 7: If none of the procedures above works, then you did your best, unfortunately you will need to purchase a new cartridge because the print-head is probably clogged permanently and/or damaged.
Step 1: Using a soft tissue or cotton swab clean any ink from the nozzles.
Step 2: Reinstall the cartridge, run the print-head cleaning mechanism (described in your printer's manual) and attempt to print again.
Step 3: Poor print quality may also be a sign of overfilling your inkjet cartridge. If this is the case, use the syringe to take out the extra ink and attempt to print again.
Step 4: If it still does not print properly, you might have some air left in your cartridge. Using the syringe, take the air from your cartridge, run the print-head cleaning mechanism (described in your printer's manual) and attempt to print again.
Streaks generally indicate that there are small particles of dried ink sitting just inside the nozzles obstructing the normal flow of ink.
Step 1: Place the cartridge nozzles on a soft tissue with rubbing alcohol, allowing some ink to leak out.
Step 2: Allow the nozzles to sit for a few minutes before gently wiping it with a soft tissue or cotton swab.
Step 3: Reinstall the cartridge, run the print-head cleaning mechanism (described in your printer's manual) and attempt to print again.
The cartridge may be overfilled. Allow the ink to flow out, using a tissue or cloth to absorb the ink. The syringe may not have been inserted deep enough or the ink injected too fast. Review your refill kit’s instruction closely to assure that all steps were followed correctly.
I only have one color cartridge but the refill kits come with 3 ink tanks, where do I refill it?
Your cartridge comes with 3 sections inside the cartridge.
Each section will hold a specific color out of the 3. All you have to do
is locate the 3 holes on the cartridge and refill with the proper color.
Please do not use the label on the cartridge to tell you where each
color is to be injected as it does not indicate the positions for each
color Your refill kit’s instructions will show you exactly how to access
the holes.
The ink level gauge may not work properly with refilled
cartridges. Because of this, you might get low ink message after
refilling. To install the refilled cartridge you might need to
override the ink level gauge. Overriding the ink level gauge
disables the printer’s ink level tracking feature, but allows
you to use refilled cartridges. To override the ink level gauge,
please check your printer reference guide. After disabling the
ink level tracking feature you should check the ink level
visually and as soon as ink level go low you need to refill the
cartridge. You do not want to try to print with empty cartridge
constantly. Trying to print with an empty cartridge constantly
may damage your print-heads.
