The Pixma ip8500 Printer features the Canon 8-color ChromaPLUS ink cartridge system. The addition of red and green ink cartridges expands the color spectrum and in result the Canon pixma ip8500 prints true-quality photos.

Canon Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE) uses a high-performance print head with an amazing 6,144 nozzles, ejecting precise, consistent droplets as small as 2 picoliters.

With Canon pixma ipi8500 you can print without a computer by connecting any PictBridge compatible1 digital camera or DV camcorder. You can also produce edge-to-edge true borderless photos in 4" x 6", 5" x 7" and 8.5" x 11" in. sizes, with the look and feel of traditional photographs.

Canon Think Tank System: this system, with its eight individual ink cartridges, lets you replace only the color that runs out, rather than an entire cartridge containing unused ink. Canon pixma ip8500 also have a low-ink sensor that alerts you when ink cartridge levels are low, so you are prepared to drop in a new ink cartridge tank as needed.

With a dual paper path, you can print 2 sided or keep photo paper stored in one tray and plain paper in another.
