Detailed Specs (Canon CP 200 Printer, 8827A001):
Product Description for Canon CP 200 (From the Manufacturer, Canon)
It's the coolest party toy since the Polaroid: the new Canon CP-200 Photo Printer. Connect it directly to your Powershot-series Canon or other PictBridge-supporting digital camera, and you'll be printing snapshots and stickers faster than you can say "cheese." PictBridge is an industry standard that lets you print images by directly connecting your compatible digital camera to your printer, regardless of the brand or model, without using a computer. The included USB cable adapter also lets you connect the CP-200 to your camera or your computer for access to images stored there.
This printer can connect directly to select digital cameras. Each wee image features 256-level color and 300 dpi resolution; the dye-sublimation process provides results similar to traditional photos, with rich detail and accurate skin tones. Supported papers include a variety of sizes, as well as bordered and borderless options. Whatever you choose, your images print in seconds--about 85 seconds for a postcard size, 40 for tiny labels or credit card size, when printing directly from Canon PowerShot cameras.
For added portability, the CP-200 supports an optional car battery adapter (model CBA-CP100). Canon provides a one-year warranty covering parts and service.
What's in the Box:
Card Photo Printer CP-200 body, paper cassette (4-by-6-inch size), ink cassette, compact power adapter, CD-ROM driver, trial standard paper (4-by-6-inch size)
Connect your Card Photo Printer CP-200 to a select Canon digital camera or PictBridge supported digital camera, then print straight from your camera. No need to touch your computer! Select your prints right on your camera's LCD. Choose your print size: approximately 4-by-6-inch or credit card size. Do borders or go borderless. Even print labels. It's up to you.
The Card Photo Printer CP-200 supports PictBridge, a new print standard. This standard enables any digital camera that supports PictBridge to connect and print to any PictBridge compliant printer. Plus, the CP-200 lets you plug in a USB computer general purpose cable so you can output images stored on your hard drive. Printer drivers and Canon software are included with the printers, so you have the option to print from your PC or Mac.
With the CP-200, you can produce prints that match the appearance and long-life of images produced by traditional film processes. Engineered for superior picture quality, this printer has a resolution of 300-dpi and 256 levels of color, so you can create richly detailed prints from 2.0-megapixel or greater cameras. Dye-sublimation technology controls the ink flow to deliver a full range of realistic tones and shadings, so color is natural and true-to-life. For durability, the CP-200 adds a transparent, protective overcoating to each print that shields it from the damaging effects of sunlight and humidity.
Create the prints you want in the sizes and styles that express your creativity. The largest print is the 4-by-6-inch postcard. Great for saving in albums or mailing off to friends and family, the CP-200 lets you create postcards with or without borders in just 85 seconds. (Print times are based on printing directly from Canon PowerShot digital cameras.)
Or chose credit-card size prints or labels, or mini labels (with optional credit-card size tray). Wallet-sized credit card prints are ideal for sharing and showing. Print them with or without borders in about 40 seconds. Plus, credit card size labels, with their convenient adhesive backing, are ideal for attaching to letters, cards or anything else you can dream up. Also available are 8-piece mini labels--an impressive addition to resumes, school work, or notes to grandma. Mini labels give you eight identical images on a single credit card sized print.
MSRP for Canon CP 200: $179.00
Street Price: $75.00 - $227.00
CNET.com Editors' rating: 7.5 Good
User rating: 100% good, 0% bad
The good: Decent-quality photo prints; fast; includes a battery; stylish, compact design; Mac and PC compatible.
The bad: Costly; starter ink ribbon makes only five prints; can't print directly from digital media.
The bottom line: With its own battery for on-the-go printing, this tiny-but-expensive portable photo printer is still a good value.
